EPSI Method
EPSI Method
The EPSI Technology and EPSI Service Concept together form the EPSI Value Chain, which can generate savings of up to tens of thousands of euros per year for the customer, while also helping to build a cleaner world—piece by piece. EPSI Technology is developed in Finland and has been granted a patent by the European Patent Office (EPO). The machine meets occupational hygiene standards for noise, gases, and fine particles, making it safe to install in production facilities if needed. The output material is dense, nearly odorless, clean to handle and store, and 100 % recyclable. The processed material does not mold or attract pests.
The external dimensions of the device are (length, height, width) 4400 mm x 2197 mm x 1508 mm (the height to the top of the hopper is 3395 mm and can be lowered for transport), and the weight is approximately 3500 kg. The machine only requires an electrical connection to operate, making installation simple and eliminating the need for expensive modifications.
The device has no detachable tanks or containers, so it does not require access by, for example, a truck. It is equipped with a hook and cable system for transportation.

With the EPSI method, a density of approximately 600 kg/m³ can be achieved—even when processing Styrofoam. In comparison, traditional waste compactors typically reach only 28–35 kg/m³. Due to this higher efficiency, the EPSI method can reduce the need for waste transportation by up to 80%, resulting in direct cost savings.
As shown in the image, 23 fish boxes (200 x 400 x 800 mm) are compacted by the device into a single dense log (200 x 400 mm) weighing 10 kilograms. The capacity is about 100 fish boxes in 3.5 hours, with an energy consumption of 0.75 kWh/kg. During one operating cycle, the device produces four processed logs.
